The accordion block is most commonly used for FAQs (frequently asked questions) but you can use it for all kinds of other things.
What does the AB Accordion block do?
The accordion block helps you keep your page clean and uncluttered by hiding extra information until the reader clicks on an opening “link” or specific piece of text. See the example below…
Click me to see how I work!
You can put text and images inside this accordion block. You can set the AB Accordion block to be open or closed by default. When there are several accordion blocks in a group, you could set just the first accordion to be open by default. This makes it obvious that more information is available by opening the accordion.
Where are the AB Accordion block settings?
With most blocks there are two places to look for settings. First you select the block. You then see a toolbar immediately above the block. And, if you look in the WordPress editor sidebar you see more block settings.
However, blocks like the AB Accordion block can contain other blocks, such as heading, paragraph or image blocks.
The important point
Blocks placed inside the accordion block content area have their own settings. So for instance, if you place an image inside the accordion block, you must select the image to see that image’s settings.
Once you get used to the idea of one block being contained inside another block, this all makes more sense.
I am the accordion block (Click Me to close this accordion)
I am a paragraph block contained inside an accordion block.

I am another paragraph block inside the accordion block.
PS. I set this accordion block to be open by default.
And to make the block easy to see I added a border using the Accordion block’s Advanced > Additional CSS Class option.
.onepxborder {
border: 1px solid #dddddd;
}
