The blocks listed below provide easy solutions to common problems
These blocks are either built in to WordPress or part of the Atomic Blocks plugin. These are blocks that serve a specific purpose. As such, they make it easy to add specific features to your web page, such as a pricing table etc.
The Notice Block
Have you got something important you want to draw attention to? Then place that message in a notice block.
It really is hard to miss.
Quotes and Pull Quotes are hard to miss!
This is jolly useful, isn’t it?
The Testimonial block…
I put these two testimonial blocks inside an advanced columns block.
This is a ready made testimonial block. Just add the testimonial, then add the name and job title. And don’t forget to add an avatar image to increase credibility.

The Profile block
The profile block looks like the testimonial block but it’s purpose is different. The profile block Highlights the author of this page. You’ve put a lot of time and effort into writing the page, make sure the reader knows who you are and how to contact you if they need your services.

Ben West
Social Media Assistant
Ben takes the hard work out of your social media posting and updating. He selects and connects with the right contacts. Then helps you build reciprocal relationships with businesses that you can help.
Pricing Tables
The pricing tables block is easy to use but it is fiddly to set up. For instance, you have to change the color of each text block independently. However, it has enough customization options to enable you to build good looking, professional pricing tables for your service business.

The Accordion block
The Accordion block is most commonly used when adding Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)to your page. But with a bit of careful thought, it can be used in many other situations.
Will the reader open the accordion?
I set this first accordion block to be open by default. That way, the reader can’t fail to see how the accordion opens when you click it.
What is progressive disclosure?
It’s the process of hiding extra information from people who don’t want to read it.
But making that extra information easily available to people who do want to read it.
Progressive disclosure helps yo keep your pages clean and uncluttered. Whilst also making the information easily available.
How do I put two Accordion blocks on one row?
I used the Advanced Columns block to place two accordion blocks side by side. Unless you place the accordion blocks in columns, they will sit one on top of the other.
Can I put images in an accordion?
Yes, I put an image in this accordion to show you what it looks like with an image inside.

The Newsletter block
Mailchimp offers several signup forms that you can easily copy and paste into your website. However, this newsletter signup form is easy to use and looks great. To have more control over the design of your newsletter sign up block, you could place the newsletter block inside a container block.
Tables
You should only use the tables block when you need to add tabular data to your page. Don’t use it as an easy way to layout your pages.

Headings, paragraphs and lists
Don’t forget the simple blocks. Much of your page will usually be made up of these. Whenever you add a new block to your page, it will automatically start out as a paragraph block. So to use the paragraph block, just type into the page.
To use any other type of block, make sure you select the block type you want to use, before adding any content to that block.
- The list block comes in very handy.
- Especially when you’re making lists.
- You can have a bulleted list or a numbered list.
Drop cap: the drop cap looks great in illustrated manuscripts from hundreds of years ago. But I’m not sure how relevant it is today. Especially when displayed on modern computer screens. The drop cap is a fun feature that is easy to add to your page. But how useful is it? I’ll let you decide that one.
The spacer with divider
You might have noticed that each section of this page is preceded with a dividing line. I did this using the Atomic Blocks spacer block. WordPress has a built in spacer block. But that block does not have the divider option.
