How to Write a Definitive Guide on Any Topic.

You’ve heard the terms Pillar Content, Cornerstone Content, and FlagshipContent, and I’m sure you’d like to write a definitive guide for your own blog. But writing a 1000 word blog post is a daunting task and you’ve got a limited amount of time.

Write a definitive guide using ChatGPT.

ChatGPT to the rescue.

You need to do two things. First you need a list of the main topics and sub topics to include in your article. Then you need a set of ChatGPT prompts to write the article based on those topics.

Please note! This is an advanced post. If you’re new to ChatGPT I suggest you try some of the easier prompts first.

Using ChatGPT to research your article.

You can use the following prompt to generate a list of important topics and subtopics related to a given main or top-level topic: [Add your own text, and remove square brackets] in the prompt below…

"Generate a list of the most important topics and subtopics related to [Main or Top-Level Topic]. Provide a comprehensive overview, including key points, concepts, and areas of interest that can be explored in-depth for a blog post. Ensure the information is organised and structured for easy incorporation into a detailed and informative article."

Replace “[Main or Top-Level Topic]” with the specific topic you have in mind. For example, if your main topic is “Artificial Intelligence,” the prompt would be: “Generate a list of the most important topics and subtopics related to Artificial Intelligence. Provide a comprehensive overview, including key points, concepts, and areas of interest that can be explored in-depth for a blog post. Ensure the information is organised and structured for easy incorporation into a detailed and informative article.”

That prompt will help you generate a diverse and well-organised set of topics and subtopics to cover in your blog post. It will enable you to write a definitive guide on any topic that your customers really care about. Now you have a list of topics to include in your blog post you can move on to writing the main article.

The prompts to write the main article.

ChatGPT provided these prompts that new users can use to generate content for their blog posts using ChatGPT. This is a structured set of prompts for a 1000-word blog post: [Add your own text, and remove square brackets]

The text below contains several prompts, I’ve listed them together to make them easier to understand and to keep the page tidy. I would recommend running the prompts for one topic at a time. That way you’ll write a definitive guide in no time.

1. Introduction:

3. Subtopic 2:

I think of an article written by ChatGPT as the first draft. After ChatGPT writes any text for me I read through the text, look for any errors, and add my own voice.
